Biography
Dr. Andrea Bandi is the Head of the Ophthalmology Unit at the Istituto Clinico Beato Matteo.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pavia in 1984, and completed his specialization in Ophthalmology and Clinical Ophthalmology at the same university in 1988.
He began working at the Istituto Clinico Beato Matteo in November 1986, where, alongside Professor Manfredini, he was among the first in Italy to focus on cataract surgery with intraocular lens implantation. Since 1997, he has been the Head of the Ophthalmology Unit. He is a member of the Italian Ophthalmological Society (since 1988) and the French Society of Ophthalmology (since 1985).
Dr. Bandi performs cataract surgeries (he performed his first cataract surgery in 1989, and has since carried out approximately 15,000) and surgeries of the anterior segment in general. He also specializes in Refractive Surgery.
During his specialization, he conducted research and published papers on uveitis and retinal vascular pathology.
