Alessandro Lualdi
Biography
Dr. Alessandro Lualdi is a cardiologist at the Clinical Cardiology Unit of IRCCS Policlinico San Donato.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pavia in 1978. He then specialized in Cardiology at the University of Milan in 1981 and in Sports Medicine at the University of Chieti in 1984.
Between 1981 and 1985, he worked as a full-time medical assistant at the Cardiological Center - Monzino Foundation. From 1985 to 1991, he was a researcher at the National Research Council (CNR), and from 1991 to 2007, he was a researcher at the University of Milan. He served as an Associate Professor at the same university from 2007 to 2017 and worked as a consultant at the Monzino Cardiological Center from 2017 to 2019. He joined IRCCS Policlinico San Donato in 2019.
Dr. Lualdi's clinical activities include:
- Patient Care:Providing care for hospitalized cardiac patients.
- Diagnostic Activities: Non-invasive diagnostics (he was responsible for the Dynamic Electrocardiography and Ergometry laboratory from 1981 to 1983) and invasive diagnostics (co-responsible for the Clinical Hemodynamics and Angiography service from 1983).
- Interventional Procedures: Performing over 8,000 interventions including coronary and peripheral angioplasty and stenting, atherectomy, aortic endograft implantation, percutaneous treatment of congenital heart anomalies (ASD and PFO), and acquired valve diseases.
His scientific and research work has resulted in over 90 scientific publications, primarily in major journals, with an Impact Factor greater than 137.622. His main research interests have been ischemic heart disease and its percutaneous treatment.
