Biography
Dr. Alberto Maria Lanzone is the Head of the Cardiology Unit and Coronary Unit at Istituto Clinico San Rocco.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pavia with honors, presenting an experimental thesis that was published and awarded at the National Sports Cardiology Congress. He specialized in Cardiology at the University of Brescia and obtained a "Certificate of Managerial Training for Complex Healthcare Facility Managers" from the School of Healthcare Management of the Lombardy Region.
Dr. Lanzone is a member of the Medical Orders of both Brescia and Varese and also holds a specialization in Sports Medicine from the University of Pavia, graduating with honors. He completed a theoretical-practical course in Intracardiac Echocardiography (ICE) at the Veterinary Experimental Center of the University of Barcelona and has been performing ICE exams for over 10 years.
Additionally, he holds certifications in advanced echocardiography, including transesophageal and stress echocardiography. He serves as an echocardiography consultant for cardiac rehabilitation services at Villa Gemma and Villa Barbarano in Gardone Riviera and Salò.
In 1997, Dr. Lanzone became responsible for the "Cardiological Diagnostics and Echocardiography Service" at the Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery Department of HUMANITAS Gavazzeni in Bergamo. He has also held several administrative and directorial roles in diagnostic and multispecialty centers and served as a Senior Cardiologist at various hospitals, including Busto Arsizio, Tradate, and Vimercate.
He has extensive experience in both clinical and interventional cardiology, including transesophageal and intracardiac echocardiography for invasive procedures like congenital defect closures, valvuloplasty, and MitraClip procedures. He is also a Cardiologist Consultant for DAN Europe, focusing on hyperbaric and diving medicine.
Dr. Lanzone has taught at the Professional Nurses School of the Multizonal Hospital in Varese and is a member of numerous professional societies, including the Italian Society of Echocardiography and Cardiovascular Imaging, the Italian Federation of Sports Medicine, and the Italian Society of Sport Cardiology, among others.
He has authored and co-authored multiple scientific publications and regularly participates in conferences, both as a speaker and moderator, particularly in the fields of echocardiography, clinical cardiology, sports cardiology, and sports medicine.
