Oreste Davide Gentilini

Biographie

Le Dr Oreste Gentilini est chef de l'unité de chirurgie mammaire et coordinateur de l'unité mammaire à l'hôpital IRCCS San Raffaele de Milan depuis 2015. Il collabore également au centre de traitement La Madonnina.

Il est diplômé en médecine et en chirurgie en 1993 et s'est spécialisé en chirurgie générale en 1999 à l'université de Milan, tous deux avec mention. Depuis 2001, il se consacre au traitement et à la recherche sur le cancer du sein après avoir effectué un stage aux États-Unis, au New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center.

De 2000 à 2015, il a travaillé à l'Institut européen d'oncologie, où il était vice-directeur principal de la division de sénologie. De 2014 à 2015, il a été membre du conseil d'examen scientifique du même institut.

Il est responsable de projets visant à la conservation du sein et des ganglions lymphatiques axillaires, y compris après une chimiothérapie néoadjuvante, l’expert en matière de néoplasmes familiaux/héréditaires et de procédures préventives de "réduction des risques" chez les femmes présentant un risque génétique élevé. Il a personnellement pratiqué plus de 5000 chirurgies du sein. Il est coordinateur et responsable de l'étude internationale multicentrique SOUND sur la stadification axillaire chez les femmes atteintes d'un cancer du sein précoce.

Depuis 2018, il est membre fondateur, membre du conseil d'administration et vice-président de l'EU-BREAST (EUropean Breast cancer REsearch Association of Surgical Trialists). Depuis 2019, il est membre du conseil d'administration de l'ANISC - Association nationale italienne des chirurgiens du sein.

Depuis 2012, il est membre du groupe d'experts européens sur le cancer du sein chez les jeunes femmes et les femmes enceintes; le Dr Gentilini est également membre du comité de rédaction de l'European Journal of Surgical Oncology et depuis 2018, il est éditeur de spécialité de la revue The Brest (I.F. 3, 4). Il est l'auteur de plus de 100 publications internationales et a été invité à participer à plus de 100 congrès nationaux et internationaux.
