Pierfranco Mainoldi

Dr. Pierfranco Mainoldi is a breast radiologist at the Imaging Diagnostics Service of Villa Erbosa in Bologna.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna in 1979 and specialized in Radiodiagnostics in 1983 at the University of Modena. In 1993, he obtained the Diplôme d'Université des Maladies du Sein from the University of Montpellier, France.

Dr. Mainoldi focuses on breast diagnostics and performs advanced examinations, including galactography, cytological examination of breast secretions, ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirations of the breast, and vacuum-assisted stereotactic breast biopsies.

He was the first radiologist in the world to perform a vacuum-assisted stereotactic breast biopsy using tomosynthesis at Bellaria Hospital in Bologna.

He regularly attends national and international conferences in his field.
