Biografie

Dr. Gaia Colalillo is a specialist urologist at Policlinico San Marco. She also collaborates with Centro Diagnostico Treviglio.

In 2012, she passed the entrance exam for the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.

In 2018, she was awarded the "George Washington International Medicine" scholarship, completing a pre-graduation period in the General Surgery Department at George Washington Hospital, DC.

In 2018, she graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Rome Tor Vergata with a score of 110/110 with honors and academic distinction.

In 2019, she obtained her medical license with a score of 268.75/270 and registered with the Medical Association of Rome.

She refined her surgical skills within the training network of the University of Rome Tor Vergata's specialization school, completing her final year at "Athens Medical Center," the highest-volume robotic surgery center in Greece.

In 2024, she earned the "DaVinci Technical Training Certificate" from ISLE ACADEMY Athens, becoming an instructor for the course "Step-by-Step Approach to Robotic Radical Prostatectomy" at ISLE Academy Center in Athens.

In 2024, she completed her specialization in Urology with a score of 50/50 with honors, presenting her thesis titled "Impact of the Uroperitoneum on the Development of Paralytic Ileus: A Preclinical Study in the Pig Model," in collaboration with the IRCAD center in Strasbourg.

She is currently pursuing a PhD in "Applied Medical-Surgical Sciences."

Dr. Colalillo has advanced expertise in the diagnostic-therapeutic process and surgical techniques. In the latter field, she has shown particular interest in uro-oncological surgery with minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic approaches. Her areas of interest also include endoscopy of the upper and lower urinary tract, the application of the Optilume balloon for recurrent urethral strictures, the Rezum technique, a new “ejaculation-sparing” treatment for prostatic hyperplasia using water vapor, and percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS) for rehabilitating bladder dysfunctions in both the filling and emptying phases.

She is the author and co-author of numerous scientific publications in international journals.
