Flavio Polliano

Dr. Flavio Polliano is a foot surgeon at Policlinico San Marco.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Genoa in 1993, where he also obtained his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 1999. In the same year, he became a licensed medical practitioner.

Dr. Polliano later attended a specialization master's program in foot surgery, focusing on minimally invasive techniques, at the Clinique Juge in Marseille, France.

He has collaborated surgically with the dermatology group for the study and treatment of diabetic foot at the S. Paolo Hospital in Savona, as well as with the rheumatology group for the study and treatment of rheumatoid foot at the La Colletta Hospital in Arenzano.

He performs minimally invasive surgery on the forefoot and corrective reconstructive surgery on the midfoot and hindfoot. From 2004 to 2019, he completed approximately 7,500 foot surgeries using minimally invasive, percutaneous, and open techniques on the forefoot, midfoot, and hindfoot.

In addition to his orthopedic and traumatological surgical activities, Dr. Polliano is involved in studying and researching minimally invasive-percutaneous surgery.

He is a member of several medical societies, including:

• The Italian Society of Foot Medicine and Surgery (S.I.C.P.)
• The European Foot and Ankle Society (E.F.A.S.)
• The Society for the Study of Minimally Invasive Surgery (G.R.I.S.M.I.P.)

Dr. Polliano also participates in works and publications related to foot surgery and diabetic foot.
