Biografía

El profesor Giampaolo Bianchini es Responsable de la Oncología Mamaria en el Departamento de Oncología Médica del IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele y Profesor Asociado en la Universidad Vita-Salute San Raffaele.

Tras licenciarse en Medicina y Cirugía en el año 2000 en la Universidad de Milano-Bicocca, se especializó en Oncología Médica en 2004 en la Universidad de Milán.

Durante su formación realizó estancias como Visiting Scientist en prestigiosas instituciones estadounidenses, entre ellas el National Cancer Institute (Bethesda), el MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston) y el Yale Cancer Center (New Haven).

El Prof. Bianchini trata a pacientes con cáncer de mama tanto en fase inicial como metastásica, contando con casi veinticinco años de experiencia clínica. Es reconocido internacionalmente como un líder de opinión en el campo del carcinoma de mama. Además, tiene un fuerte interés en el desarrollo de nuevas terapias y enfoques inmunoterapéuticos para esta enfermedad.

El Prof. Bianchini también dirige el grupo de investigación clínica traslacional e inmunoterapia dentro del Departamento de Oncología Médica, y participa en numerosos proyectos de investigación dedicados a mujeres con cáncer de mama, con el objetivo de comprender los mecanismos de respuesta y resistencia a los tratamientos, identificar nuevas estrategias terapéuticas y definir biomarcadores que permitan mejorar la personalización de la terapia.

Es autor de numerosas publicaciones en revistas internacionales como Nature, The Lancet, Annals of Oncology, The Lancet Oncology, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Nature Medicine, Nature Reviews Clinical Oncology, entre otras. Participa de forma regular en congresos y conferencias nacionales e internacionales.
