Biographie

Dr. Michele Massaro is the Head of OPRAM - Advanced Minimally Invasive Robotic Prosthetic Orthopedics Center at Policlinico San Pietro. Since February 2022, he has been in charge of the Advanced Minimally Invasive Reconstructive Prosthetic Orthopedics (OPRAM) team at IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi - Sant’Ambrogio.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bari in 2003, where he also specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2009. During his specialization years, he participated in several international trainings and cadaver lab courses in Sheffield and Hamburg, focusing on minimally invasive surgery.

In 2012, he completed a second-level master's degree in “Treatment of Degenerative Knee Pathology” at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart.

In 2013, he became a first-level medical director at ASL Bari, then moved to ASL Taranto where he performed the same duties. During these years, he deepened his knowledge in knee and hip prosthetics.

From 2012 to 2015, he worked at the Prosthetic Surgery Center (CCP) of IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi, focusing primarily on minimally invasive techniques for hip and knee prosthetic approaches, observing numerous benefits for patients and postoperative outcomes.

Since 2015, he has worked at Humanitas in Milan and Bergamo as a senior consultant, and from 2019 as the Head of the Minimally Invasive Prosthetic Surgery Unit.

Since September 2021, he has returned to the San Donato Group as the Head of the OPRAM Center - Advanced Minimally Invasive Robotic Prosthetic Orthopedics, at Istituto Clinico San Siro in Milan and Policlinico San Pietro in Ponte San Pietro (BG).

Dr. Massaro employs minimally invasive techniques, utilizing cutting-edge robotic technologies, the latest generation prosthetics, advanced biocompatible materials, and Fast Track protocols to reduce surgical effects and promote rapid recovery.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with numerous internationally recognized specialists and has several publications in national and international scientific journals.
