Biographie
Dr. Giovanni Vitale is the Head of the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit at Policlinico San Marco. He is also an Adjunct Professor in Regional Anesthesia for the Specialization School in Anesthesia, Intensive Care, and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Milan Bicocca.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1987 from the University of Milan, where he specialized in Anesthesia and Intensive Care in 1991.
His career began in 1990 at San Gerardo Hospital as a Medical Assistant in Anesthesia and Intensive Care. From 1996 to 2002, he served as a Medical Director in Anesthesia and Intensive Care, coordinating anesthesiology for hand surgery, reconstructive microsurgery, and hand transplants. Working with the microsurgery team, he performed the first three hand transplants in Italy and among the first in the world.
Until 2006, he continued as a Medical Director in Anesthesia and Intensive Care, then led the Simple Unit of Analgesic-Regional Anesthesia until 2012.
Between 2012 and 2017, he served as Operating Room Coordinator. Since 2017, Dr. Giovanni Vitale has continued his leadership role at Policlinico San Marco. Throughout his career, he has participated in numerous national and international conferences and has served as the Scientific Director of various anesthesia-related training courses.
