Diego Riva

Dr. Diego Riva is an urologist, gynecologist, and sexologist at Smart Clinic.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1975 from the University of Milan, where he specialized in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1979 and subsequently in Urology in 1985. He obtained a master's degree in clinical sexology in 2018 from the Italian Association of Sexology and Applied Psychology (Milan).

Throughout his career, he has held managerial and high-responsibility roles: from 1980 to 1986, he was the head of the urodynamics and gynecological urology center at the IV Gynecology Clinic of the University of Milan and then at the San Raffaele Institute until 2000.

Since 1992, he has been a member of the board of the Italian Association of Uro-Gynecology, later becoming its president until 2009, and he is a member of the scientific committee of the Italian Continence Federation.

He dedicates part of his work to education, serving as a lecturer in surgery courses for the discipline of urogynecology at the University of Modena between 2007 and 2009. He also served as the scientific director of courses on vaginal and reconstructive pelvic floor surgery in 2009, 2010, and 2011 during the congress of the Italian Association of Gynecological Urology and Pelvic Floor and is also a promoter of courses on urinary incontinence and overactive bladder in women.

He is the author of hundreds of national and international scientific publications, including the test Childbirth Related Pelvic Floor Dysfunction” (Springer Ed, 2016). Additionally, he has been a member of the editorial board of the journal *Urodinamica* since 1996 and serves as a reviewer for several international urogynecological journals.
