Antonio Saverio Perez

Dr. Antonio Saverio Perez is an ophthalmologist at the Ophthalmology Unit of Policlinico San Marco and Smart Clinic.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1989 from the University of Milan, where he also completed his specialization in Ophthalmology in 1993.

Dr. Perez began his collaboration with the Ophthalmology Unit at Policlinico San Marco in 2001, serving as a consultant ophthalmologist with a focus on refractive surgery. Since 2005, he has been the Head of the Refractive Surgery Service and, since 2008, he has also headed the corneal cross-linking service for keratoconus and major corneal diseases.

At Policlinico San Marco and Smart Clinic, he performs daily:

• Pre-operative assessments for refractive surgery
• Procedures for correcting visual defects using major laser techniques (PRK, FemtoLasik, SMILE)
• Post-operative follow-up visits
• Corneal cross-linking treatments
• OCT (optical coherence tomography) and angio-OCT
• Retinal fluorescein angiographies

Throughout his career, he has continued his education by attending numerous national and international courses and conferences, particularly related to new refractive surgery techniques and cross-linking.
