Biografía

El profesor Adriano Lazzarin es profesor honorario de la Universidad Vita-Salute San Raffaele y consultor de la Unidad de Enfermedades Infecciosas del Hospital IRCCS San Raffaele Turro. También trabaja en la Casa di Cura La Madonnina de Milán.

Su formación comenzó en 1970, cuando se licenció en Medicina y Cirugía en la Universidad de Milán. Se especializó en Endocrinología en la Universidad de Génova (1974). En la Universidad de Milán se especializó primero en Medicina Interna (1979) y luego en Enfermedades Infecciosas (1982).

Desde 1987 ha sido investigador principal y coordinador en múltiples grupos de investigación sobre el VIH y la hepatitis. Fue galardonado con el premio "Excelencia en Medicina del VIH" por la Conferencia Europea del Sida (EACS). Es miembro de comités sanitarios nacionales e internacionales.

Es autor de más de 800 artículos científicos publicados en New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, Blood, Nature, Hepatology, AIDS, Journal of Infectious Diseases, Clinical Infectious Diseases, Science, Annals of Internal Medicine, Annals of Oncology, Journal of Neurology Journal of Neurovirology y Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes.
