Roberto Cavallaro

Professor Roberto Cavallaro is the Head of the Department of General Psychiatry at the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan and Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milan and specialized in psychiatry in 1991.

Very active in the field of research, he has been and remains the principal investigator of several promising and cross-sectional studies, both interventional and observational, pharmacological, psychiatric rehabilitation and the study of clinical and biological characteristics of psychiatric pathologies.

The topics of his scientific works range from clinical psychiatry, neuropsychiatry and clinical psychopharmacology to surveillance and epidemiology of side effects of psychotropic drugs, pharmacokinetics, molecular biology, neuroimaging, neurocognitive rehabilitation and clinical neuropsychology, with special emphasis on development in the field of psychotic disorders and schizophrenia.

Professor Roberto Cavallaro is the author of 200 publications, including chapters of books, monographs and national and international articles (Hirsch index - 28), published in journals such as Neuropsychologia, Neuropsychopharmacology, The Lancet, European Psychiatry, Psychological Medicine, Biological Psychiatry, Schizophrenia Research, Pharmacogenomics, Psychiatry Research, European Psychiatry, Neuroscience Letters, Journal of Psychiatry Research, International Journal of Neuropsychopharmacology, Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, Journal of Psychopharmacology, American Journal of Psychiatry.

He is a member of the editorial board of the journal Gruppo Elsevier Schizophrenia Research: Cognition and Frontiers in Psychiatry, Schizophrenia. He has been and remains an organizer or a member of the scientific committee of numerous international congresses, such as the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology, World Congress of Psychiatric Genetics, Cognition Meeting in Schizophrenia, a Biennial Satellite Meeting of the Schizophrenia International Research Society and National. He is a member of the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology. 

He was the Master, Head of Psicofarmacologia Clinica, and is currently the Master, Head of Recreational Therapy at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.
