Dr. Nicoletta Maxia is Head of the biological component of Medically Assisted Procreation (MAP) procedures at Policlinico San Marco.
She graduated in Biological Sciences at the University of Cagliari, where she also specialized in Medical Genetics in 2002. In the field of Assisted Reproduction, she has performed over 6,000 procedures. Since 1995, she has served as lead biologist in MAP centers across 8 public and accredited private hospitals.
She has gained extensive experience in MAP techniques, particularly in in vitro fertilization with embryo transfer (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and morphologically selected sperm injection (IMSI). She is also an expert in TESE and TESA techniques and has deepened her expertise in treating male infertility related to paraplegia.
She regularly participates in conferences on infertility, gynecology, and obstetrics, resulting in a scientific output of over 30 publications and congress abstracts.
Among the most relevant are the International Congress of Medical-Surgical Endocrinology, the National Congress of the Italian Society for Fertility and Sterility (SIFES), the World Congress on Controversies in Obstetrics, Gynecology & Infertility, as well as contributions published in Ginecologia dell’infanzia e dell’adolescenza and Development in Gynecology and Obstetrics.
The most recent conference organized by Dr. Maxia, in 2018, focused on the relationship between infertility and paraplegia.
