Dr. Alfredo Cioni is an Orthopedic Surgeon and Head of Unit 8 at Villa Erbosa.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Catania in 1972. In 1975, he completed his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the University of Bologna, and in 1976, he obtained his specialization in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation from the same university.
Dr. Cioni served as a contract professor for the university course in Anatomical Drawing from 1977 to 1996.
He has consistently focused on spinal pathology, particularly spinal deformities (such as scoliosis and hyperkyphosis), congenital conditions, and degenerative diseases.
From 1976 to 2013, he worked at the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute, and since 2013, he has been at Villa Erbosa Hospital, where he has performed approximately 4,000 spinal surgeries.
He has participated in 60 national and international conferences as a speaker and has 110 published papers to his name.
