Rossana Daniela Berta (Россана Даниэла Берта)

Dr. Rossana Daniela Berta is a General and Bariatric Surgeon, serving as a consultant in General and Bariatric Surgery at Policlinico San Donato.  

After earning her degree in Medicine and Surgery with top honors (110/110 cum laude) from the University of Sassari in 1991, she specialized in General Surgery with the highest marks at the same university in 1996.  

She completed fellowships in the United States (UCSF San Francisco, 1998) and Japan (National Cancer Center, Tokyo, 2005). She later obtained a Level II Master's Degree in Quality and Clinical Governance from Bocconi University in Milan and Alma Mater Studiorum in Bologna (2007) and a Level II Master's Degree in Aesthetic Surgery from the University of Milan (2013-14).  

From 1997 to 2003, Dr. Berta was a Medical Director in Minimally Invasive, Oncologic, and Trauma Surgery at Bufalini Hospital in Cesena. From 2003 to 2009, she served as a Medical Director in the Department of Laparoscopic and Minimally Invasive General Surgery at Ospedale Maggiore in Bologna. Since 2009, she has been a Medical Director in the Department of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery at the University Hospital of Pisa.  

Dr. Berta specializes in Bariatric Surgery, Abdominal Wall Surgery (hernias and incisional hernias), and Robotic Surgery.  

She is a member of leading national and international surgical societies (ACOI, SICOB, ISHAWS, EHS, CRSA) and currently serves as a board member of SICOB.  

As a lecturer and tutor in bariatric and abdominal wall surgery courses within her department and scientific societies, she has performed over 3,000 surgeries as the primary surgeon, primarily in Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery.  

She has authored scientific publications in General, Bariatric, and Metabolic Surgery. Her Scopus h-index is 8, and her Google Scholar i10-index is 7.  

Dr. Berta is also a frequent speaker at national and international conferences.
