Биография
Prof. Francesco Marino is the Director of the Anesthesia, Resuscitation, and Pain Therapy Service at the Istituto Clinico Beato Matteo in Vigevano (Pv).
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome in 1989, where he also obtained the National Qualification to practice as a medical surgeon in the same year. He later specialized in General Surgery at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and in Anesthesia and Resuscitation with a focus on Pain Therapy at the University of Milan.
Throughout his career, he has pursued continuous education, obtaining various advanced diplomas in fields such as "Rational Foundations of Chinese Medicine" at the University of Pavia, "Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics" at the University of Siena, and "Palliative Care" at the University of Eastern Piedmont in Novara.
Between 1993 and 1999, he furthered his training at international institutions, including the University of Chicago in Intensive Care and the University of Birmingham in Analgesia and Obstetric Anesthesia.
In 2015, he completed a second-level Master's degree in "Geriatric Care and Health Service Management of Residential Healthcare for the Elderly (RSA)" at the University of Pavia and, in 2019, a second-level Master's in "Oxygen-Ozone Therapy."
His career began in 1991 as a Level I Medical Director in Anesthesia, Resuscitation, and Pain Therapy at the hospitals of Magenta and Abbiategrasso (Milan). Since 1999, he has been the Head of the Pain Therapy Service at Istituto Clinico Beato Matteo in Vigevano, and since 2008, he has been the Director of the Anesthesia, Resuscitation, and Pain Therapy Service at the same institute.
Prof. Marino's teaching career started in 1992 at the Professional Nursing School in Magenta, where he taught courses in Anesthesia and Resuscitation, Dietetics, and Diet Therapy. He continued teaching in the Advanced Course in Palliative Care and the Specialization Course in Anesthesia and Resuscitation at the University of Eastern Piedmont in Novara. He is currently a contract professor in "Pain Therapy: From Diagnosis to Multidisciplinary Patient Approach" for the Nursing Degree Program at the University of Pavia for the academic year 2020/2021.
He is the author of over 100 scientific publications and has been a speaker/co-speaker at numerous national and international conferences. He has won three awards for the best scientific work at national congresses (SINPE Award 1987, SICD 1998, and SICD 2000). Over the years, he has served as the Scientific Director of the national journal "Quaderni di Cure Palliative," Founder and President of the "Pain Study and Therapy Association" in Magenta, and Founder and Treasurer of the Italian Chapter of the World Society of Pain Clinicians.
