Биография
Dr. Fernando Porro is an internal medicine physician at the Emergency Department of IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi - Sant’Ambrogio.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 1974 and specialized in Hematology in 1977. In 1984, he also earned a specialization in Internal Medicine from the same university. During the last two years of his degree, he completed an internship in Clinical Medicine at Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico. After graduating, he was hired as an assistant in the Emergency Medicine Unit of the same hospital.
From 2001 to 2014, he served as head of the Emergency Department at the IRCCS Ca' Granda Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico in Milan.
From 2014 to 2015, he was the Director of the Emergency Department and Emergency Medicine Unit. In the General Emergency Department, he also served as the medical representative for the Quality Management System.
Dr. Porro specializes in the management of complex patients in emergency medicine and patients with sepsis. He is experienced in differential diagnosis and treatment of venous thromboembolism, with a particular focus on pulmonary embolism, and also manages patients with syncope.
He is a member of the Italian Society of Emergency Medicine and has previously served as a board member for the Lombardy region. Dr. Porro has conducted clinical research in emergency medicine, with publications in national and international journals.
