Fabrizio Vaira

Dr. Fabrizio Vaira is a dermatologist at the Clinical Unit of Dermatology and Cosmetology at IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele, directed by Prof. Santo Raffaele Mercuri. He also works at Casa di Cura La Madonnina.

Since 2019, he has been a Lecturer in Dermatology in the Degree Course in Dental Hygiene at Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele in Milan.

In 2012, he graduated with top honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan, where in 2018 he specialized with honors in Dermatology and Venereology.

He is specialized in surgical dermatology with particular interest in microsurgery and the use of laser surgery techniques.

His main areas of interest are:

• Mole mapping and oncological dermatology, focusing on the early diagnosis of melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, actinic keratosis, and other skin cancers
• Dermatologic surgery (melanomas, excision of dysplastic nevi, basal cell carcinomas, and other skin tumors)
• Skin lesion biopsies (including shave biopsy and punch biopsy)
• Dermatologic and aesthetic laser treatments: cosmetic removal of benign skin lesions (skin tags, seborrheic keratoses, angiomas, warts, condylomas, fibromatous nevi), pre-cancerous lesions such as basal cell carcinomas and actinic keratoses, facial photo-rejuvenation, treatment of skin spots and stretch marks
• Scar and ulcer treatment
• Acne treatment
• Clinical dermatology: diagnosis and treatment of psoriasis and atopic dermatitis (he is an authorized prescriber of innovative biotechnological drugs), urticaria, rosacea, various forms of eczema, and rare dermatologic diseases
• Management of autoimmune dermatoses
• Treatment of hair disorders (such as alopecia)
• Diagnosis, evaluation, and therapeutic management of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)
• Cutaneous telethermography
• Traditional and daylight photodynamic therapy (PDT).

Dr. Vaira is a member of the Italian Society of Dermatology and Sexually Transmitted Diseases (SiDeMaST).

He has authored more than 50 articles in leading national and international dermatology journals. He is frequently invited as a speaker at national congresses and regularly participates in the most important international dermatology conferences.
