Caterina Michelozzi

Dr. Caterina Michelozzi is a neuroradiologist at the Neuroradiology Unit of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele in Milan, directed by Professor Andrea Falini.

After graduating with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 2009, she completed her specialization in Radiology, again with honors, at the same university in 2015.

During her specialization, she gained significant experience in both body and neuro interventional radiology in Italy (Niguarda Hospital, Milan) and abroad, receiving the prestigious ESOR European fellowship to train at the University Center in Toulouse under Professor Cognard, a European reference in interventional neuroradiology.

After her specialization, Dr. Michelozzi continued her career in France as an attending physician in interventional and diagnostic neuroradiology, managing both emergency and elective procedures and working as a university researcher until 2019. During this time, she obtained the European Diploma in Minimally Invasive Neurological Treatments (ECMINT) and the French Interuniversity Diploma in Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology from the Pitié-Salpetrière University in Paris.

Since 2019, she has been performing interventional neuroradiology procedures (such as endovascular treatment of ischemic stroke, aneurysm embolization, and treatment of vascular malformations), MRI—including high-field 3T scans—CT and angio-CT exams in emergency and elective settings, and providing neurointerventional consultations at IRCCS San Raffaele.

She is the author or co-author of over 30 international scientific publications in the field of interventional neuroradiology and is an investigator in major trials, including DAWN and FRAME (ischemic stroke) and the ICAN project on cerebral aneurysms.

She regularly participates in national and international congresses.
