Biografía
Dr. Michele Davide Maria Lombardo is an orthopedic surgeon in the Hand Surgery Unit at Istituto Clinico Villa Aprica, the Sports Hand Center at Zucchi Wellness Clinic - Istituti Clinici Zucchi in Monza, and Casa di Cura La Madonnina. He also collaborates with the RAF Centers.
He graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in 2014 and completed his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology with honors at the University of Milan in 2021. In May 2021, he earned his certification as a microsurgeon.
During his university studies, he attended the Plastic Surgery Department at Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi, directed by Prof. Franz W. Baruffaldi Preis.
Throughout his training, he assisted Prof. Peretti, director of the Orthopedics and Traumatology specialization school at the University of Milan, as a lecturer in Medicine and Surgery and Motor Sciences programs.
In 2019, he participated in a humanitarian mission in Afagnan with the Wave Onlus, where he encountered rare malformations. Besides participating in complex surgeries, he provided local surgeons with updates on the latest surgical techniques.
Dr. Lombardo honed his trauma surgery skills as part of the medical team for the FISI (Italian Winter Sports Federation), accompanying the national men’s and women’s alpine skiing teams on various national and international trips.
In 2020, he pursued training in Paris at the Clinique du Sport, where he worked alongside Dr. Didier Fontes, the federal doctor for the French national rugby team and president of the French Society for Hand Surgery.
Since 2023, he has served as a Contract Professor at the University of Milan, teaching Orthopedics and Traumatology in the Medicine and Surgery and Motor Sciences degree programs.
He has collaborated closely with Dr. Loris Pegoli, a specialist in hand and wrist surgery and co-founder of the Fight Clinic, which provides medical care during sports events, particularly combat sports.
Dr. Lombardo's areas of interest include hand surgery, specifically in sports-related trauma, ligament injuries, and regenerative medicine.
He has authored and reviewed over twenty articles on both general orthopedic topics and specialized hand surgery, all published in international journals.
