Lorenzo Maria Maggioni

Dr. Lorenzo Maria Maggioni is an orthopedic surgeon at the Sport Trauma and Research Center of Istituto Clinico San Siro.

He earned his degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 2017, where he also completed his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2024.

Since 2024, Dr. Maggioni has served as the team physician for the Club Italia Femminile volleyball team (FIPAV), and since 2023, he has been part of the medical staff for the Italian youth women's national volleyball teams.

Dr. Maggioni specializes in sports traumatology, with a focus on ligament injuries of the knee and shoulder, as well as degenerative conditions. He performs arthroscopic surgery on the knee and shoulder and prosthetic surgery for the hip and knee.

His research interests lie in sports traumatology, particularly knee ligament injuries. He focuses on treatment strategies, surgical techniques, and optimizing post-operative rehabilitation pathways.
