Lorenzo Cianfanelli

Dr. Lorenzo Cianfanelli is a cardiologist at the Intensive and Semi-Intensive Cardiology Unit of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.  

He graduated with honors and commendation in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pavia in 2015 and later specialized with honors in Cardiovascular Diseases at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in 2020.  

In his daily clinical practice, Dr. Cianfanelli focuses on the management of cardiological emergencies, particularly acute myocardial infarction, acute heart failure, cardiogenic shock, and pulmonary thromboembolism. He also provides care for patients with temporary mechanical circulatory support devices (such as intra-aortic balloon pumps and Impella) and those with permanent ventricular assist devices (LVADs).  

His outpatient cardiology work primarily focuses on cardiovascular prevention, arterial hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, heart failure, ischemic heart disease, valvular heart disease, arrhythmias, and the post-operative management of patients undergoing cardiac surgery.  

Academically, Dr. Cianfanelli is the co-author of 31 publications in national and international scientific journals (H-index 9) and actively participates in scientific conferences as both a speaker and attendee.
