Virginia Solitano

Dr. Virginia Solitano is a gastroenterologist at the Gastroenterology and Digestive Endoscopy Unit of IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele.

In 2018, she graduated with honors and distinction in Medicine and Surgery from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome. In 2023, she completed her specialization in Gastroenterology at Humanitas University (Milan) with top marks and honors.

She currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Western University.

Dr. Solitano conducts outpatient consultations for a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions, with a particular focus on:

• Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis)
• Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
• Dyspepsia and chronic gastritis
• Helicobacter pylori infection
• Celiac disease
• Acute and chronic diarrhea
• Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
• Hemorrhoids
• Diverticular disease of the colon

She also performs outpatient endoscopic procedures, including diagnostic esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy.

An active member of the Young-ECCO committee (European Crohn’s and Colitis Organization), Dr. Solitano regularly participates in international clinical studies and research projects in the fields of precision medicine, advanced combination therapies, and predictive biomarkers. She collaborates with academic centers in Europe, North America, and Asia.

She is the author of over 80 scientific articles published in indexed international journals and is actively involved in multicenter research projects and global collaborations in the field of IBD.
