Mattia Giovannini

Dr. Mattia Giovannini is a pediatric specialist affiliated with Casa di Cura La Madonnina and clinically associated with the Meyer University Hospital IRCCS in Florence, within the Departmental Unit of Allergy.

After graduating in Medicine and Surgery in 2014 from the University of Verona, he completed his specialization in Pediatrics in 2020 at the University of Florence (Meyer University Children’s Hospital), with a focus on Pediatric Allergology.

In 2023, he obtained a Level II Master’s Degree in Pediatric Immunology and Allergology from the same university, and in the same year, he was awarded the National Scientific Qualification for Associate Professor. Dr. Giovannini also serves as a fixed-term Researcher (Type A) at the Department of Health Sciences of the University of Florence.

Throughout his academic and professional career, he has held important positions in the United States and the United Kingdom, including: Observer at the Division of Allergy and Immunology of Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School; Visiting Professional at the Division of Pediatric Allergy, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust; and Pediatric Allergy Visiting Research Assistant, Visiting Research Associate, and Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Women and Children’s Health, School of Life Course Sciences, King’s College London.

From the beginning of his career, he has cultivated a strong interest in pediatric allergology, actively participating in clinical and research activities with a particular focus on anaphylaxis and immunomodulation strategies.
