Dr. Marco Franceschini is an Orthopedic Surgeon at the Orthopedic Unit 9, led by Dr. Federico Biondi, at Villa Erbosa in Bologna, and he also collaborates with Villa Chiara in Bologna.
He graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Rome Tor Vergata in 2017. Since 2018, he has been registered with the Medical and Dental Council of the Province of Rome (registration no. 64050).
In 2024, he completed his specialization with honors in Orthopedics and Traumatology at Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna (IRCCS Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute).
During his residency, he actively participated in research protocols focused on Sports Medicine and the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. In 2023, he completed a training period at the Knee Surgery Department of AZ Monica in Antwerp (Belgium) under the supervision of Dr. Koen Carl Lagae and Prof. Peter Verdonk.
His main areas of interest include:
- Knee prosthesis
- Hip prosthesis
- ACL reconstruction
- Treatment of meniscal and cartilage injuries of the knee
- Biological joint reconstruction
- Infiltrative therapies with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and cellular products (mesenchymal stem cells from adipose tissue or bone marrow) for osteoarthritis and tendinopathies
He is the author/co-author of several scientific articles published in international journals and indexed on PubMed. He regularly attends scientific congresses, courses, and professional meetings.
