Laura Lidia Saltarin

Dr. Laura Lidia Saltarin is an ultrasound specialist at RAF Respighi and Santa Croce Centers. She also collaborates with IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele. 

After earning her degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 1996, she specialized in Hepatology and Metabolic Diseases in 2001 (recognized as equivalent to Gastroenterology by Ministerial Decree on 07/16/014). This sparked her passion for ultrasound, initially in clinical settings and later expanded to all body regions.

She worked for 18 years at the Humanitas Clinical Institute (Rozzano-Milan) in the ultrasound department of the Diagnostic Imaging unit, where she served as Deputy Chief for the last seven years.

Throughout her career, she has been an ultrasound consultant at Raf First Clinics and led the "Breast Cancer Prevention in Young Women" project at the National Cancer League in Milan.

Dr. Saltarin also collaborated with the Humanitas Clinical Institute in tutoring and training university students and residents from the University of Milan's Radiology Specialty School. She has been invited as a speaker at various seminars.

Since 2019, she has been a consultant in the radiology department at the Don Gnocchi Foundation.

Currently, she performs ultrasound across all body regions, including the abdomen, breast, thyroid, salivary glands, testicles, lungs, intestinal loops, gynecological areas, prostate (transrectal), skin and subcutaneous tissue, soft tissues, musculoskeletal system, and joints. She also conducts pediatric ultrasound in the same areas, including hip dysplasia screening for newborns, in private practice and under almost all insurance and agreements.

She is currently the head of the interventional ultrasound clinic, performing ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspirations of the thyroid, salivary glands, and lymph nodes, ultrasound-guided breast and soft tissue nodule biopsies, and ultrasound-guided joint injections.
