Dr. Giovanni Passaretti is a urologist at the Urology Unit of the IRCCS San Raffaele Turro Hospital, directed by Dr. Franco Gaboardi.
In 2008, he graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna Alma Mater Studiorum with top marks (110/110), presenting a thesis titled "Correlation between BMI and PASI in patients with moderate-severe psoriasis undergoing biological therapy."
In 2009, he obtained his medical license and registered with the Medical Association of Ascoli Piceno.
During this period, he served as a substitute general practitioner and as a volunteer doctor for the victims of the Abruzzo earthquake.
From 2009 to 2014, he was a resident doctor at the University Urology Clinic of Bologna, directed by Prof. G. Martorana.
In June 2014, he earned his specialization diploma with top marks and honors (110/110 cum laude), presenting a thesis titled "Evaluation of the detection rate of PET with 18-FACBC compared to TC/PET with 11C-Choline in patients with biochemical recurrence after radical treatment for prostate cancer."
From October 2014 to May 2015, he worked as a freelance urologist at the Urology Unit of Luigi Sacco University Hospital, under the direction of Prof. Franco Gaboardi.
Since May 2015, he has been a staff urologist at the Urology Unit of San Raffaele Ville Turro, under the direction of Prof. Franco Gaboardi.
Since February 2020, he has been a staff urologist at the Urology Unit of San Raffaele Olgettina, also directed by Prof. Franco Gaboardi.
Dr. Passaretti specializes in oncological diseases of the urinary system, gaining significant expertise in robotic surgery. He routinely performs advanced urological surgeries as the lead surgeon, specializing in robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomies, video-laparoscopic radical nephrectomies, and partial/radical laparoscopic or robot-assisted nephrectomies.
In his surgical practice, he performs:
- Treatment of prostatic hyperplasia with Holmium laser (HOLEP).
- Endoscopic resections of bladder tumors (TURBT).
- Treatment of upper urinary tract tumors (UTUC).
- Simple and extended orchiectomies.
- Minor andrological surgeries (correction of varicocele, hydrocele, circumcision).
He also performs treatments for urinary stones, including flexible/semi-rigid ureteroscopy and retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS).
Dr. Passaretti regularly participates as a speaker at national and international conferences.
