Gianfranco Sportelli

Dr. Gianfranco Sportelli is an orthopedic surgeon and traumatologist at the Sports Traumatology and Arthroscopic Surgery Center at IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi – Sant’Ambrogio. He also collaborates with Palazzo della Salute – Wellness Clinic.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1995 from the University of Milan, where he also specialized in Orthopedics and Traumatology in 2000.

Following a twenty-year career at ASST Nord Milano at Bassini Hospital, where he held the role of first-level medical director and took on complex professional assignments until 2022, Dr. Sportelli began collaborating with IRCCS Ospedale Galeazzi - Sant'Ambrogio. Here, he primarily performs prosthetic and arthroscopic surgeries, as well as outpatient, ward, and BOCA activities.

Throughout his career, he has performed over 6,000 orthopedic surgeries, specializing in hip prosthetic surgery with a minimally invasive anterior approach, knee prosthetics, and arthroscopic surgery.
