Gianfranco Morrone

Dr. Gianfranco Morrone is the chief surgeon of the Surgical Unit at Villa Erbosa.

He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna in 1973, where he also obtained a specialization in General Surgery in 1978. In 1989, he completed a second specialization in Thoracic Surgery.

After graduating, he gained experience in the United States by attending the General Hospital in Boston through Harvard Medical School - Massachusetts and the St. Mary's Hospital in Passaic, New Jersey.

Upon returning to Europe, he trained at the Marie-Lannelongue Surgical Center in Paris.

He conducts research on the use of CO2 lasers in surgery and is the author of 110 scientific publications in national and international journals.
