Pediatric Diebetes

The San Raffaele Pediatric Department deals with the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric and adolescent pathologies. Alongside the most common pediatric diseases, treatment of pediatric endocrinological pathologies, diabetes, and rare diseases represents the area of excellence of the department.

Numerous research projects are active on the prevention and therapy of type I diabetes, treatment of thyroid diseases, genetic obesity, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, pubertal developmental diseases and hypoglycemia. Physicians also study the endocrinological aspects of rare diseases, the prevention of osteoporosis and forms of malabsorption, such as celiac disease.
