Biography

Dr. Patrizio Mazzone is the Social Security Area coordinator in the Arrhythmology Department of the IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele under the supervision of Professor Paolo Della Bella.

After graduating from the University of Naples in Medicine and Surgery in 1994, he received a specialization in cardiology in 2003 from the University of Messina.

Dr. Mazzone is engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation, paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia and Wolf-Parkinson-White syndrome (WPW). In particular, he is an expert in the field of implantation of pacemakers, defibrillators; extraction of broken or infected catheters and percutaneous closure of the left atrium in patients with contraindications to oral anticoagulant therapy.

In terms of research activities, he is an expert in clinical research in the field of percutaneous closure of the left atrium and the treatment of complications of implantable devices. He is the author and co-author of more than 70 articles published in national and international journals.

He is a member of various scientific societies, such as ANMCO (National Association of Hospital Cardiologists), the European Society of Cardiology and AIAC (National Association of Arrhythmology and Electrocardiostimulation).
