Biography

Professor Sabrina Corbetta is the Head of the Endocrinology and Diabetology Service and Laboratory of Experimental Endocrinology at the IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi in Milan. She is also an associate professor of Endocrinology at the University of Milan.

She graduated in medicine and surgery from the Milan State University, where she specialized in endocrinology and metabolic diseases, and in 2003 received her doctorate in Endocrine and Metabolic Sciences.

She is very active in the field of scientific research, she participates in projects such as the Italian Study Group on Idiopathic Central Hypogonadism (2012), in research groups of the Italian Society of Endocrinologists (SIE) with the Hyperparanet and Hypoparanet projects (2015), in a group of experts from the Innovation through Delphi project for the Evaluation of HypopArathyroidism (IDEA) and from the PARAT project on parathyroid diseases European Society of Endocrinology (ESE). She also receives grants from the Ministry of Health and the University of Milan for her research projects. In 2013, she won the Research Completion Competition as a partner, and in 2018, she won the Cariplo Call for Aging competition as a partner. In 2018, Dr. Verdelli from the Laboratory of Experimental Endocrinology received funding by winning a tender from the Italian Society of Osteoporosis, Mineral Metabolism and Skeletal Diseases (SIOMMMS).

He is a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Endocrinology, BioMed Research International, Frontiers in Endocrinology and BMC Medical Genetics. She is the author of 111 publications with important bibliometric parameters (total number of citations 2381, the Hirsch index Scopus 27, the Hirsch index WOS 29, Research Gate 39.76), 16 chapters in books and more than 150 abstracts of oral communications and posters at national and international conferences.

Professor Sabrina Corbetta is a columnist for the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, European Journal of Endocrinology, Clinical Endocrinology, Endocrine Related Cancer, Journal of Endocrinological Investigation, Kidney International, Endocrine, International Journal of Endocrinology, Journal of Translational Medicine, Frontiers in Endocrinology . She is a member of the Italian Society of Endocrinologists (SIE), European Society of Endocrinology (ESE), Endocrine Society (USA), Italian Society of Osteoporosis, Mineral Metabolism and Skeletal Diseases (SIOMMS) and Forum in Bone and Mineral Research.
