Paola Protti
Biography
Dr. Paola Protti is an endocrinologist at the Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases Service at the Istituto di Cura Città di Pavia.
She graduated in 1992 with a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pavia. In 1999, she obtained her specialization in Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases from the same institution. In 2000, she received a research grant for a project in the field of diabetology at Policlinico San Matteo in Pavia.
Dr. Protti works as a medical manager in the Endocrinology and Diabetology Service at the Istituto di Cura Città di Pavia, where she conducts outpatient consultations for endocrinological and diabetological cases, including Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, and gestational diabetes.
She is also a consulting physician at the RSA San Giuseppe in Dorno (PV), focusing on endocrinological and diabetic diseases in elderly patients. Dr. Protti provides diabetological and endocrinological consultations in all inpatient wards throughout the clinic.
From 2004 to 2015, she was the head physician at the RSA in Mezzana Bigli (PV). From 1992 to 1994, she volunteered as a physician at the Endocrinology and Diabetology outpatient clinic, managing activities in the endocrinology and diabetology day hospital at the Medical Clinic of San Matteo Hospital in Pavia.
Dr. Protti focuses on diagnosing, treating, and following up on endocrine diseases, including conditions affecting the thyroid and parathyroid glands, pituitary gland, adrenal glands, gonads, and obesity.
She has a particular interest in thyroid disorders during pregnancy.
She also specializes in the diagnostic and etiological assessment of patients with diabetes mellitus (Type 1, Type 2, and gestational diabetes), managing their treatment plans, metabolic goals, and personalized medical therapy.
In addition to treatment, she is actively involved in diabetes screening and prevention campaigns. She regularly conducts educational courses on managing and preventing diabetes.
Dr. Protti is a speaker at various courses and conferences on diabetic and endocrinological topics, as well as at training sessions for the dissemination of hospital protocols on diabetes management.
