Biography

Dr. Nicolò Zanchi is an orthopedic surgeon at the Orthopedic and Traumatology Clinic of Policlinico San Pietro.

In 2014, he graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan-Bicocca. During his academic career, he received honors and awards, partly due to his international training experiences in the UK and the United States.

From August 2021 to July 2022, he worked in the United States, completing an ACGME-accredited Clinical Fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Surgery at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, performing more than 550 arthroscopic, open, and prosthetic surgeries as the lead surgeon. In addition to his clinical experience, he was actively involved in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of professional and amateur athletes, overseeing the 31 sports divisions of Penn State University in NCAA Division 1A.

He is a member of the Italian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology (SIOT) and an international member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).

He has collaborated with the Italian Football Federation (FIDAF) as the physician for the Italian National Team. Today, he works as an orthopedic doctor for Powervolley Milano, handling sports traumatology from the playing field to the operating room, caring for both amateur and professional athletes.

His primary areas of interest include knee and shoulder surgery, ranging from minimally invasive, arthroscopic, and regenerative treatments to prosthetics.

Dr. Zanchi has authored numerous publications in national and international journals and serves as a reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine, one of the most prestigious journals in sports medicine worldwide.

His research areas mainly focus on anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction in adults and pediatric patients, optimization of ACL reconstruction using the All-Inside technique, knee prosthetic surgery, and surgical repair techniques for tendon and joint injuries.
