Jon Lovisolo

Dr. Jon Alexander Joseph Lovisolo is a urologist in the Urology Unit at Istituto Clinico Villa Aprica.  

He earned a degree in Psychology from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore (USA) in 1979. In 1988, he graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pavia, where he later specialized in Emergency Surgery and First Aid in 1993. In 2007, he completed his specialization in Urology at the University of Insubria.  

After gaining experience as an assistant physician in the Emergency Department (Varese) and in Gynecology and Obstetrics (Locarno), he became a Medical Assistant in the Urology Division of the Ospedale di Circolo in Varese in 1992.  

From 1996 to 1997, he refined his clinical and surgical skills as a Clinical Fellow/Chief Resident in the Department of Urology at Wayne State University in Detroit, USA.  

In 2003, he was appointed Head of the Urology Unit at Tradate Hospital, and from 2013 to 2024, he led the Urology Unit at Saronno Hospital.  

Dr. Lovisolo has performed thousands of surgeries, utilizing both traditional and video-laparoscopic approaches, for a wide range of urological conditions.  

He is a member of the Italian Society of Urology and the European Association of Urology and a former active member of the Urogenital Section of the European Organization for the Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), where he served as Chairman of the Kidney Cancer Study Group.  

He has also worked as a consultant for the European Agency for the Evaluation of Medicinal Products (EMEA), contributing to the clinical assessment of new kidney cancer treatments.  

Dr. Lovisolo is the author and co-author of numerous publications in national and international scientific journals and has been a speaker at multiple conferences in the field of urology and urological surgery.
