Houssam Zmerly
Biography
Dr. Houssam Zmerly is the Head of the Urology Unit at the Istituto di Cura Città di Pavia.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pavia in 1995, where he also completed his specialization in Urology in 2001. Since 1996, Dr. Zmerly has participated in various theoretical and practical update courses both in Italy and abroad. From May 2000 to May 2001, he was a medical trainee in the Urology Department at Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris, actively engaging in scientific, clinical, and operating room activities.
Since 2001, he has practiced as a freelance urologist, focusing on the medical and surgical treatment of major prostate conditions. Dr. Zmerly treats:
- Bladder cancer
- Urinary tract stones
- Male impotence and sexual disorders
- Genital deformities
- Male infertility and varicocele
- Urinary incontinence
He performs diagnostic and ambulatory procedures including:
- Cystoscopies
- Andrological Doppler ultrasounds
- Urological and andrological ultrasounds
- Urodynamic tests and prostate biopsies
His surgical expertise includes endoscopic surgery for prostate, bladder, and renal stones, oncological surgery for prostate and bladder cancer, and minimally invasive "sling" suburethral techniques for urinary incontinence.
Dr. Zmerly is a member of the Italian Society of Urology (SIU) and the European Association of Urology (EAU). He actively participates in national and international conferences and has published several scientific papers and abstracts in Italian and international journals.
