Guglielmo Maria Emanuelli

Dr. Guglielmo Maria Emanuelli is the Scientific Director of the Vein Unit within the Vascular Surgery Unit at Istituti Clinici Zucchi in Monza.

His educational journey began at the University of Milan, where he graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1973 and specialized in General Surgery in 1978. In 1981, he further specialized in Angiology and Vascular Surgery.

He specializes in General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, and Angiology, with a particular focus on venous thromboembolic disease and caval filters for mechanical prevention of pulmonary embolism. He is the inventor of a frequently used therapeutic device named after him: the PIC Emanuelli.

As the primary operator, he has performed over 5,000 surgeries, the majority in Vascular Surgery. His work includes Aortic Aneurysm Surgery, Carotid Surgery, and Vena Cava procedures. He has advanced techniques in endovascular surgery for arterial conditions, particularly focusing on abdominal aortic aneurysms with aortic endografts and carotid stenoses with Stent-PTA. He is also an expert in venous conditions, treating lower limb varicose veins with Endo Vascular Laser Treatment.

Dr. Emanuelli is the author or co-author of 100 publications on General, Thoracic, and especially Vascular Surgery. He regularly participates as a speaker at international courses and conferences on these topics. He has held prestigious positions such as Secretary of the Medical and Dental Association of the Province of Monza and Brianza (2009-2011) and Provincial Scientific Committee Chairman for Monza and Brianza for the Italian Society of Phlebology (SIF).
