Biography

Professor Gian Paolo Giuditta is a General Surgeon at Villa Erbosa.

He graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna in 1984. He then specialized with honors in General Surgery at the same university in 1989.

In 1987, he won a national competition for titles and exams and was appointed as a permanent medical lieutenant in the Italian Army. After completing the application course at the Military Health School in Florence, he was assigned as a Surgery Assistant at the Military Hospital of Bologna.

Later, he was appointed Head of the Surgery Department at the Military Hospital of Bologna, where he directed the department for ten years, with consistent and active surgical involvement.

He participated in numerous international peacekeeping missions, including:

  • Head of the Surgery Department in Mozambique (1993-1994), Albania (1998-1999-2000-2001-2003), Kosovo (2002), and Iraq (2004)
  • Director of Role 1+ of the ISAF Command in Afghanistan in 2006.

With the rank of Colonel, he led the Department of Surgery at the Military Hospital of Milan from 2007 to 2012 and concurrently served as a Contract Professor at the University of Milan, teaching Urogenital Semiotics at the Urology specialization school. He was promoted to General in 2014.

Currently retired, he practices as a freelance surgeon at Villa Erbosa, with over twenty thousand surgical interventions to his credit. He also holds an honorary position as a Consultant Surgeon at the Military Hospital of Milan, where he continues to engage in operating room activities, digestive endoscopy, and mentoring young medical officers.

He teaches General Surgery at the II.VV. Training School of the Italian Red Cross in Milan and has been a member of the Italian Society of Surgery since 1985. He is the author of several scientific publications.
