Domenico Sama

Dr. Domenico Sama is an orthopedic surgeon at Villa Chiara in Bologna.

He graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna in 1999 and obtained his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology with honors at the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute (I.O.R.), IRCCS, University of Bologna, in 2004.

In 2004, he completed a fellowship at the Orthopaedic Trauma Service at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York (Director: D. L. Helfet MD), funded by a scholarship from A.O. International, where he participated in clinical and experimental scientific activities under the supervision of Dr. Helfet.

From 2008 to 2016, Dr. Sama worked as a Medical Director in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Vignola Hospital, part of the Azienda USL of Modena. From 2016 to 2017, he held the position of Director of the Complex Structure at Vignola Hospital, Ausl of Modena, in the Orthopedics and Traumatology department.

Dr. Sama specializes in shoulder, hip, and knee prosthetic surgery, and also performs arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee.

He participates in national and international conferences in the field.
