Carlo Gastaldi
Biography
Dr. Carlo Gastaldi is the Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Unit at the Istituto Clinico Città di Brescia.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan in 1982 and continued his education at the same institution, specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Between 1986 and 1987, he was a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of California, Irvine, in the United States.
His career began in 1988 as a Volunteer Physician at the Provincial Hospital San Paolo in Milan. In 1989, he became an Assistant Physician in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at the Spedali Civili of Brescia, where he served in various roles from 1989 to 1998.
In addition to his continuous professional development (participating in over 200 national and international congresses and courses, including numerous study stays abroad, particularly in the U.S.), he has been involved in teaching. He taught at the autonomous School of Midwifery in Brescia and served as an adjunct professor at the University of Brescia (1996-97-98).
Dr. Gastaldi has always been deeply interested in issues related to couple infertility, assisted reproduction programs, and endoscopic gynecological surgery. He was a member of the board of directors of SIFES (Italian Society of Fertility and Sterility and Reproductive Medicine) and has performed over 2,000 assisted reproduction procedures, along with more than 2,500 surgeries, including endoscopic, laparotomic, or vaginal procedures.
