Andrea Maccolini
Biography
Dr. Andrea Maccolini is a gynecologist at the Reproductive Medicine Center of Policlinico San Pietro.
He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna in 1985, where he also completed his specialization in Gynecology and Obstetrics in 1990.
In 1989, he won the Serono Award for the best experimental work titled "The Use of Amniotic Fluid for Gamete Culture in Assisted Fertilization."
Dr. Maccolini has been involved in teaching activities in the field of Reproductive Medicine for many years. He spent time at the Cardiff Assisted Reproductive Unit of the University Hospital of Wales as an Honorary Observer to learn about the clinical application of Power Color Doppler in ovarian stimulation.
He has extensive experience in the following areas:
- Endometriosis
- Gynecological endocrinology
- Gynecological ultrasound
- Diagnostic laparoscopy and hysteroscopy
- Ovarian stimulation protocols and artificial fertilization methods
Dr. Maccolini is a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction. In May 2011, he was elected to the board of Cecos Italia, a society that, through Assisted Medical Procreation techniques, contributes to the fight against human infertility through the study and preservation of gametes. From May 2014 to May 2015, he served as the Vice President of Cecos Italia.
He has participated in numerous courses, conferences, and symposiums on Gynecology and Obstetrics, with a particular focus on infertility issues and assisted fertilization techniques.
