Andrea Biondi

Biography

Dr. Andrea Biondi is a cardiac surgeon in the Department of Adult Cardiac Surgery at the Policlinico San Donato Clinical Research Institute in Milan.

He graduated with honors from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Second University of Naples in 2001, where he completed his specialization in cardiac surgery with honors in 2006.

He attended as a doctor undergoing specialization, and then as a doctor-director, the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the Hospital named after Monaldi in Naples from 2000 to 2006. Then he worked as a specialist in the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the Ospedale Sant’Anna Hospital in Caserta.

Dr. Biondi has been working at the Policlinico San Donato Clinical Research Institute since 2007 and currently holds the position of Senior Staff Surgeon. As the first surgeon, he performed about 400 cardiac surgeries in adults, dealing with the entire spectrum of acquired heart defects. In recent years, he has devoted himself to minimally invasive surgery of the mitral and aortic valves.

He took part in several scientific studies of the Italian Group for the Study of the Results of Cardiac Surgery (GIROC). His Hirsch index is 8, and he has participated as a speaker or guest speaker in 30 national and international congresses.
