Biography

Dr. Alberto Saporetti is the Head of the Cardiology - Hemodynamics Unit and also responsible for training in interventional procedures at the Istituto Clinico Sant'Anna in Brescia.

He earned his master’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Brescia in 2005, and in 2010, he completed his specialization in Cardiology at the same university, with a thesis titled Development of Thrombocytopenia During Aortic Counterpulsation.

Dr. Saporetti’s work focuses primarily on cardiovascular diseases, with expertise in using diagnostic tools like transthoracic echocardiography, working with major echocardiographic systems, including GE Vivid series, Philips Equip and Sparq, Esaote Mylab series, and Toshiba Artida series. He independently performs transesophageal echocardiography, primarily in outpatient settings and in cardiac surgery operating rooms.

He has participated in numerous research projects, including trials like Project and Reach Up (acute and chronic heart failure), Measure HF (observational study on chronic heart failure), Blitz 3 (epidemiological study on acute coronary syndromes), Mantra (prospective study on acute coronary syndromes), and ISPIRI (observational study on arterial hypertension). Additionally, he is certified to use a semi-automatic defibrillator (AED).
